Terminal Trailer: Margot Robbies New Movie Looks Dark , Twisted, And Sexy
Margot Robbie may be everybody's favorite Harley Quinn, but the actresses next character might be enough to even scare the comic book supervillain. The first trailer for the new noir thriller Terminal is here and, while it is obviously only a taste of the larger story, it seems clear that this is going to be one dark and twisted film. Check out the trailer below.
In the trailer, we hear the ominous voice of somebody named Mr. Franklin, who is offering a large sum of money in order to have somebody killed. Exactly how the woman played by Margot Robbie fits into the whole thing isn't entirely clear from the trailer, though she obviously has her own agenda. She also has an "unquenchable bloodlust" which is always what you want to hear from a pretty girl.
Margot Robbie is expected to reprise her role as Harley Quinn in about 57 different movies over the next few years and now it seems like maybe we know why. She's found a home playing characters who are absolutely out of their mind. We don't see all that much of Robbie's character her but one thing that seems clear is that she's got a couple of screws loose. She's nuts, but in that intriguing way that makes want to watch just to see what sort of crazy she gets into. At various points, Robbie appears to be a waitress, a nurse, and possibly a stripper. How exactly all this fits together is anybody's guess, but I have to admit I'm curious.
There's one thing that can be said for Terminal and that's that the movie certainly looks to have style. That style appears to be quite dark and violent, so it may not appeal to everybody, but for people who are into that sort of thing, Terminal looks to be quite captivating. It feels like what would happen if Quentin Tarantino directed a Philip K. Dick story.
Quite possibly the most interesting thing about Terminal may be that one of the supporting roles is played by Mike Myers. We haven't seen or heard much from Myers in recent years, and Terminal certainly isn't the sort of movie we would have expected to find him in back when he was at the height of his popularity. Still, that just makes his inclusion all the more interesting.
Terminal is set for release on May 11. This puts right in the heart of one of the busiest movie periods of the year, but clearly, the film isn't looking to compete directly with the major blockbusters. Instead, it likely wants to appeal to those who either don't go in for superheroes and Star Wars or those who have already seen it all and are just looking for something a bit different. This certainly appears to be that.
