Just like how Scott Lang inherited the Ant-Man moniker from Hank Pym in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hope van Dyne has inherited the Wasp from someone else: her mother. In 2015's Ant-Man, we learned that that Janet was lost to the Quantum Realm, but when Ant-Man and the Wasp rolls around this summer, we'll officially meet Janet, who's being played by Michelle Pfeiffer. Nine months after Pfeiffer's casting was announced, we finally have our first look at her as Janet from a new Ant-Man and the Wasp poster.

Avengers: Infinity War may be all the rage right now, but 2018 still has one more MCU entry on the way, and Marvel Studios doesn't want you to forget that. While the first Ant-Man and the Wasp poster followed in its predecessor's footsteps by showing the protagonists insect-sized, the new poster goes for the traditional lineup model, and you can see Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet van Dyne underneath Hope, both masked and unmasked. It appears that Janet is wearing her own costume, which makes sense given her heroic past. Along with Janet, the poster also features new players like Laurence Fishburne's Bill Foster, Walton Goggins' Sonny Burch and Hannah John-Kamen's Ghost, who is finally shown without her helmet.

After lying to Hope for years by telling her that her mother died in a plane crash, Hank Pym finally revealed the truth to his daughter in Ant-Man. In 1987, Hank and Janet were sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. to disarm a Soviet missile while it was in flight. To accomplish that, Janet had to shrink smaller than she'd ever gone before, and while she successfully stopped the missile from hitting its target, she's also been stuck in the Quantum Realm ever since. For decades, Hank believed Janet was gone for good, but when Scott successfully returned from the Quantum Realm after his battle with Yellowjacket, Hank began to wonder if his wife might still be alive. Given Janet's presence in Ant-Man and the Wasp and Evangeline Lilly previously saying that the Quantum Realm will factor heavily into the sequel, this suggests that we'll be taking a trip to this other reality to free Janet from her imprisonment.

Set after Captain America: Civil War and before Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp will see Scott Lang under house arrest due to siding with Steve Rogers during Civil War. He's trying his best to balance his home life with his Ant-Man responsibilities, but that becomes more complicated when Hank Pym and Hope van Dyne show up to recruit him for another mission, one which will see Scott fighting in the field with Hope by his side as Wasp.

Love, Simon Was Age-Restricted In Singapore Because Of LGBT Themes

There is an argument to be made that the United States' greatest export is culture. The music, TV shows, video games, internet platforms and movies made here are enjoyed by people all around the world. Yet, as is often the case when cultures clash, different values systems, cultural norms and beliefs can result in things being received differently in different parts of the world. Such is the case with Greg Berlanti's film Love, Simon, which has been restricted in Singapore to viewers over 21 because of its LGBT themes. The official classification of the film states:

The film is rated R21 with an advisory of "Homosexual Theme". The central theme of the film revolves around a homosexual character coming to terms with his identity as a homosexual and his attempts to gain acceptance from his family and friends. The theme of homosexuality, therefore, forms the main narrative of the film as the protagonist is portrayed to overcome his fear of being rejected as a gay male

It is this theme identified by the Singapore's Media Development Authority in its official statement that garnered Love, Simon an R21 rating, meaning only those above the age of 21 can seen it. These themes are allowed to be explored under the R21 rating, it just limits how many people in Singapore can see it. This is far from surprising considering that under Singapore law, sexual acts between two males are illegal, punishable by up to two years in prison. With that in mind, the message of Love, Simon seems to be at odds with the official stance on homosexuality in the country. The film is saying its okay to be who you are, while the official laws say something much different, although those laws aren't heavily enforced.

Love, Simon is rated PG-13 in America, and it would appear that many people stateside have issues with Singapore's restriction on the film. There is even a Change.org petition to have the film reclassified to NC16, or no children under 16 admitted. There are probably plenty of countries where a film like Love, Simon would have been outright banned though, so the fact that it is accessible to some of the population is encouraging. However, the argument is that a restricted rating like R21 prevents the film from being seen by those who are most in need of hearing its message, mainly teenagers. At that impressionable time in a person's life where they are discovering who they are, a film such as Love, Simon might provide comfort and affirmation that they desperately need. A change to an NC16 rating in Singapore would allow those in their formative years to see the film and its message.

Love, Simon has received pretty positive reviews since its release, and the coming of age romantic drama currently sits at 92% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Some Hollywood stars like Neil Patrick Harris and Kristen Bell even bought out screenings so others can see the film. As for Singapore, attitudes may be changing, but change is rarely fast or easy. Exposure is the first step to understanding, and even if Love, Simon is restricted, there are still audiences in the country who will be able to see it, and maybe in time, that will help change bigger things like policy. Bradley Cooper Changed Up A Star Is Borns Ending Late Into Filming

Spoilers ahead for A Star Is Born.

With holiday releases just a few weeks away, it seems that this year's awards season has officially begun. Then again, it could technically have started back in October, when Bradley Cooper's directorial debut A Star Is Born first arrived in theaters. The musical drama has Oscar noms written all over it, between the ambitious cinematography, groundbreaking roles for Cooper and Lady Gaga, and the soaring soundtrack.

One of the most powerful moments in A Star Is Born comes from its final sequence, where Ally belts out the anthem "I'll Never Love Again", the song her late husband Jackson wrote for her. While the sequence provided the moment Ally's star was born, it turns out that Bradley Cooper wasn't sure about which track to put in the finale. As Lady Gaga recently revealed:

The way Bradley chose to end the film was extremely of the times. It was an unorthodox way, but it was the authentic way. And it changed as we were filming. The script was being rewritten and we had a trove of songs, so even on the day [of shooting], Bradley would be like, 'No, we're going to do this song. Not this song. Switch it out.' I'd be in my trailer at the piano, getting ready.

Now this is interesting. Bradley Cooper's multifaceted role in A Star Is Born has been recounted leading up to the film's release, but it appears that the actor/director was also living in the moment and making changes late into the game. What's more, it didn't seem to bother Lady Gaga in the slightest, once again proving how well their collaboration worked on the project.

And in the end, Bradley Cooper likely chose the right finale with "I'll Never Love Again." In addition to giving Lady Gaga's Ally an 11 o'clock number that shows off her vocal range, it also provided one more emotional gut punch for the audience. Because just as the song reaches its final chorus, the scene shifts to Jackson clunking out the tune on the piano, and singing to his wife. She sheds a silent tear, and you get one final memory of the love story that just took up the last 135 minutes of music and drama.

After showing Jackson's original performance of the unfinished song, the camera once again cuts back to Ally's perspective, as she recovers from the emotional and vocally challenging number. The protagonist then looks into the camera, and just like that, the titular star is born.

A Star Is Born is full of musical numbers that are already iconic, but "I'll Never Love Again" has its own special place in the Oscar-bait project. While Bradley Cooper may have been flirting with a few different tracks, having Ally complete Jackson's original song brought the story full circle. While Ally's career was kickstarted when Jackson finished "Shallow", her completed version of "I'll Never Love Again" is the final step toward the superstardom she was meant to achieve.

Lady Gaga's revelation to THR is sure to pique the interests of little monsters out there, as well as moviegoers who enjoyed her performance in A Star Is Born. The movie's soundtrack is quite popular, with "Shallow" currently getting airtime on mainstream radios, in addition to streaming numbers. As such, many fans will be eager to know what other songs might have ended up being A Star Is Born's finale. And while it might have been a cut song, there's another possibility from the soundtrack.

If Ally's goodbye to Jackson wasn't "I'll Never Love Again", smart money says it would have ended up being "Is That Alright?" The powerful ballad plays during the credits of A Star Is Born, and even made the rounds in commercials ahead of the film's release. It shows a different side of Gaga's voice, although she still gets the chance to belt out some powerful notes throughout its run. And the lyrics also would have worked in context with the movie's third act.

Much like "I'll Never Love Again", credit song "Is That Alright?" speaks to the devotion and love shared between Ally and Jackson Maine. The couple built a life together, with music and empathy at the heart of their relationship. The lyrics to "Is That Alright?" seemingly speaks to the future they could have had, if Jackson hadn't tragically taken his own life.

In addition to directing, writing, and starring in A Star Is Born, Bradley Cooper was also intimately involved in the music of the film. Despite not previously being a musician, he collaborated with the likes of Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson to craft the film's soundtrack, and decide how they'd be weaved into the project. It overall sounds like an extremely intense process, and it should be fascinating to see how much it pays off once ceremonies like the Golden Globes and Academy Awards begin.

Both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga seem like shoe-ins for leading actor nominations, as A Star Is Born has been both a critical and financial success. Add in the narrative of both performers stepping out of their comfort zone, and it seems like a story that might end with the duo snatching a few trophies in the coming months. You can't deny that Cooper and Gaga put a ton of work into A Star Is Born, and they've luckily both been getting plenty of accolades and praise thrown their way.

The movie is putting some weight behind "I'll Never Love Again", as its one of the three songs that is being pushed for a Best Song nomination. A Star Is Born anthem "Shallow" is also another prime candidate, as well as Ally's first breakout song "Always Remember Us This Way". Bradley Cooper only appears in one of those tracks, with the soundtrack's potential nominations showing the musical talents of Lady Gaga.

Alas, we'll have to wait patiently to see how nominations work for both the Oscars and Golden Globes. A Wrinkle In Time Has Screened, Here's What People Think

Disney is about to unveil a theatrical adaptation of one of the more popular books ever written. The studio that seems to produce hit after hit is going a bit outside of its normal production with a film version of A Wrinkle in Time, but the novel that has been read by millions certainly has a built-in fan base. A few people have had a chance to see the ambitious feature, and it seems clear that Ava Duvernay swung for the fences with the ambitious feature, although not everybody is quite sure she stuck the landing. Our own Conner Schwerdtfeger was lucky enough to see the film, and he thought the movie was about as good as it could be considering how difficult the source material was.

So while A Wrinkle in Time might not be perfect it does have some quality performances that might be worth checking out. A similar, though slightly harsher, response came from The Playlist, who called out the film's noble intentions, but ultimately felt that the movie had too many problems to succeed. For whatever it's worth, the music is apparently pretty good.

None of that is to say that everybody had issues with the movie. Pop Sugar's Kirbie Johnson only critique of the movie was that it was clearly directed toward younger viewers, but she still felt the movie had plenty for any audience to enjoy. It was clearly an emotional experience for some.

A continued investigation of Twitter reveals at least one of those people who were brought to tears by A Wrinkle in Time.

While reactions seem mixed to A Wrinkle in Time, it will be interesting to see how the official reviews shake out when they hit next week. Even if the critical reviews for the film aren't great, it doesn't necessarily mean a bad box office experience. This is Disney after all. Even when they produce a Pirates of the Caribbean sequel it still makes giant piles of money. If the audience doesn't mind the issues the film seems to have as much as the critics, we could still see a massive success.
